Who Watches The Watchmen's Lawyers?

Apparently 20th Century Fox is serious in its attempt to curb Warner Bros. and the Watchmen film we eagerly await.
As any excuse to watch the trailer is a good one, here it is again:

As glorious as the film looks, there are concerns stemming from a court's refusal of Warner Bros. move to dismiss 20th Century Fox's preliminary action towards an injunction on Watchmen due to disagreements on the ownership of film rights. Is this another part of the reason that Harry Potter was moved to next Summer by WB?
So says CBR in this article which was started by this piece at Deadline Hollywood.
Please let this be an early scare and a deal be made.

Plus, the fragrant, self-confessed "nerd" (ahem) Tom Rothman is trying to mess Gavin Hood around on X-Men Origins: Presents: The Origin Of The Mutant What Is Known As The Wolverine, repainting sets, adding characters, changing the tone, etc. He thinks Wolverine will appeal to people more if he's more cuddly, but we know (and apparently Hood knows too) that Wolverine must be a badass to work, and not a cry-baby who spends the X-Men trilogy falling to his knees and going "waaaahhhhh". It was on First Showing last night, I think.

In other words, fuck Fox.

Rothman is an example of what happens when glorified stock traders get more say than artists.
X-3 actually made him think he knew best.
Staggering.
